FAQ

We understand how much planning and preparation goes into your night so please feel free to get in touch with any other questions you may have.

How long do you play for? – “Our standard playing time would be from 8pm-12pm with a 30min break for weddings and 9pm-12pm for corporate bookings”

Do you provide background music on your break? – “We do! We have a playlist of tried and tested songs to keep the party going, however if you have your own playlist on IPod/I Pad then we would love to hear it!”

What time would you arrive to set up? – “We would arrive around 6.45pm in order to be ready to set up between 7pm-8pm. We do also provide an earlier set up option”

Will you learn our first dance? –“Absolutely! We ask that the band be given at least 1 month to learn this so we can get it sounding tip top for your big day! On occasion, certain songs may not be suitable for a live band, so in this case we would play the original track on Ipad for you instead.”

Can we choose what songs you play? – “With loads to choose from on our set list, we love to be as flexible as possible with songs on the night. This keeps your guests dancing and hearing their all their favourites. However, you can choose your requests and “do not plays” in the members section after booking us!”

Can you set up before the meal? – Yes, provided the band are all available we can set up as early as you require, however there is an additional cost for this service to cover the extra time needed.”

Can we hear you live before our wedding/event?  “Please come and see us at one of our showcase events or open rehearsals. We keep our Facebook and website up to date with times and dates of when you can see us next. We love meeting brides and grooms before the big day and getting to know you before the madness begins! However please be assured that we NEVER invite prospective clients to weddings or private events.”

Is your equipment reliable? “All of our equipment including lighting is regularly PAT tested and serviced.”

Do you have Public Liability Insurance? – “Every member of the band is named on a Public Liability Certificate which covers all aspects of public performance to the tune of 10 million.”

How long does it take you to set up and sound check? – “It takes us 1 hour from gaining entry to the venue to set up and sound check before your event. Should your event be running behind we will do our best to make up time for you.”

Do you ever use backing tracks? – We are proud to say that everything you hear from Verona is 100% LIVE at all times.

Can you play a ceilidh set? – “Of course we can! We love a bit of ceilidh too and can play your favourite dances including The Gay Gordons, Dashing White Sergeant and Strip The Willow. Don’t panic if you can’t quite remember the steps, we will also fully call each dance to keep your guests moving in the right direction.”

What do you do if one of the band is on holiday or ill? – “Don’t worry, should this happen your booking will be completely unaffected. We ensure we have a pool of equally talented musicians that we can call upon on the rare occasion one of the band is unavailable.”

Do you have male and female vocals? – “Suzie is our female lead singer. Our keyboard player Alan provides male vocals/backing vocals and our drummer Michael provides backing vocals.”
